Phil Harrison: Xbox One Will Never Come Without Kinect

Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Harrison is underlining the company’s support of the new Kinect with Xbox One. According to an interview with CVG, Harrison dashes the hopes of fans holding out for a cheaper, Kinect-free Xbox One bundle.

"CVG: A quick word on Kinect – I presume there will never be an Xbox One sold without it. You are doing this for developer-related reasons as much as your own. You want all developers to know that they can always implement Kinect technology because it always comes with every system. Would that be correct?

Phil Harrison: Correct. Xbox One is Kinect. They are not separate systems. An Xbox One has chips, it has memory, it has Blu-ray, it has Kinect, it has a controller. These are all part of the platform ecosystem."

Gamescom 2013: Final Fantasy XIV Director Thinks the PlayStation 4 is “Fantastic”, PS4 Version Will Have the Same Quality as PC | DualShockers

Today at Gamescom I had the chance to spend a sizable amount of time asking all sorts of questions to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida, and when I asked him if the development team was already using PS4 devkits and how they felt about it he definitely sounded hyped about the new toy:

I think it’s Fantastic.

The Last Guardian "Under Earnest Development"

The Last Guardian

Sony has spoke out to reassure gamers that The Last Guardian is not dead, but rather "under earnest development." SCEs Fumito Ueda shared the news with Famitsu, going on to add that Japan Studio "also has titles like Puppeteer and Knack, and those are only the ones currently announced. Those are taking priority right now."At this point, if The Last Guardian ever does come out, one would think it has to be a PlayStation 4 title, right? Who knows, if Studio Japan stays busy enough, the game may end up getting pushed to PlayStation 5.
